The foundation of everything we do at Soulful Resilience Training
I created Soulful Resilience Training because I know firsthand what it feels like to be overwhelmed, burnt out, and without hope. I've worked as a case manager in mental health agencies, homeless shelters, government organizations, and as a career case manager. I've seen how challenging this work can be and how easy it is to feel like you're drowning.
I've experienced the frustration of clients I couldn't help no matter how hard we tried, clients who wanted results without doing the work, and clients who were difficult to engage. I've also felt the burden of unsupportive leadership and, later, the challenges of being a supervisor without the tools to help my team process struggles.
I've also been on the other side of the desk—as a client who felt invisible, hopeless, and trapped in trauma. That experience is part of why I entered this field, but I quickly realized how systems and red tape can make helping others feel impossible. Eventually, I experienced burnout and mental health struggles, compounded by trauma and career challenges.
Soulful Resilience Training was born from my journey to learn the tools and techniques I wish I had been taught in the field. I believe that while this work is challenging, it is possible to do it well—and sustainably. When staff are supported and equipped with practical tools, they can not only prevent burnout but also create better outcomes for the clients they serve.
